How to export Timeline in MS PROJECT 2010

Hi,

this will be a short one! After you have your Timeline ready, you should use it for reporting purposes in MS PROJECT 2010. You can Report to your Project Sponsor, Project Manager (if you are not one), Stakeholders, Managers, etc.

There is no such a thing like Export Button but there is another one called Copy Timeline. To reach this button, click anywhere in the Timeline View and then choose the Format Tab:

There are three possibilities:

  • For E-mail, which means that MS PROJECT 2010 will compress Timeline approx. to the 60% of the full size
  • For Presentation, which means that MS PROJECT 2010 will compress Timeline approx. to the 90% of the full size
  • Full size, which means that MS PROJECT 2010 will do no compression to the Timeline

I will choose it one by one and then I will post them to the Outlook (I am old fashioned boy so I will use CTRL+V as a Paste option):

You can paste timeline to Word, PowerPoint, or Visio! Here is example of PowerPoint:

For the end, use the TimeLine View to make quick and Visible Reports. This is a powerfull feature in the MS PROJECT 2010!
